Nation description: Eupontus has historically been home to the wider Ogygian civilization, with the first Ogygian city-state emerging around 900 BCE. Politically, ancient Eupontus consisted of localized polis that ruled through overlapping spheres of economic, cultural, and martial influence. Early Ogygian philosophy, mathematics, and science flourished during the ancient and classical era and informed the foundations of philosophy, theology, and science in other classical West Yojuan civilizations.
Eupontian paganism became increasingly structured throughout the 1st century BCE, owing to the influence of philosophy and wider Ogygian written culture. Nikonianism (Platonism) would have a major impact on the development of ethics, political philosophy, and theology in Eupontus and southern West Yoju for most of the early medieval period.
The Kingdom of Eupontus emerged in the 6th century CE and engaged in frequent conflicts with neighboring powers. The Medieval Era saw the rise of feudalism and internal conflicts, culminating in the defeat of the Eupontian Kingdom at the Battle of Hagiopolis in 1614 by invading Nuki forces.
